Motorcycle Illustrations by Francis

It's easy to take the simple things in life for granted. Freedom of speech, and freedom of expression are certainly things we have just become used to as normal. Not every country allows its residents to practice these things they way we 'Westerns' have grown accustomed to. Earlier this week, Singapore-based creative director Francis Ooi reached out and shared his story with The Bullitt. In a land where motorcycles can only be stock, something enforced by strict law, he had to get creative.
For year Francis has admired custom bikes featured here but was unable to create his own. Late last year he decided he would finally build his own. As he put it, "
...instead of cutting up iron frames and wrenching rusty bolts and nuts... I spend most of the time building the bike in my 12" garage, the MacBook Pro. Took me a few months to build one. Each bike has about 800 components and layers put together. A well channeled energy without getting myself into trouble with the authority."

For anyone who hasn't spent countless hours behind a computer screen creating art, these images may seem like your basic pretty picture. For those of us who have, we know that there is an amazing amount of work and crazy attention to detail that went into making each piece. Here is a video Ooi put together to show us how he works his magic:

Thanks for sharing Francis. Can't wait to see what you come up with next!
